Cedar lumber has become more popular for builders due to it's beautiful color and scent. It has natural properties that make it less desirable to insects and decay.
Cedar lumber still need to be maintained on a regular bases and the process for cleaning it is much more delicate than other wood species.
Power washing cedar and other soft woods is not a do it yourself job for home owners!
When restoring and preserving cedar you must use more of a chemical process than any type of agitation or pressure. This is why we suggest hiring a professional to avoid damage.

Power washing cedar homes

Power washing Cedar home surfaces is a fairly common services offered by most power washing contractors but cedar homes are much softer and can be damaged easily.  Cedar homes should be cleaned with less than 600 PSI to avoid extensive damages.  If your unsure if you have a cedar home contact us for a free estimate to ensure the correct methods are used for your cedar home.

When you hire someone for home cleaning, make sure your contractor has the knowledge and the right equipment for the job. Most home cleaning companies will use 3,000 psi high pressure water instead of using the proper equipment. That amount of pressure can destroy the surface being cleaned.  home cleaning is no longer thought of as a quick and simple job, many home cleaning companies have realized just how much damage can be caused with a pressure washer.  Henry’s Housework Inc, believes in using the right equipment and PWNA approved methods for cedar home cleaning and restoration.   To get the best results you have to make an investment in education, equipment and the proper cleaners and sealers.  Our home cleaning equipment is designed to clean cedar homes properly while protecting the surface by using the least amount of pressure possible for cedar home cleaning and pressure washing.   Here's some of our equipment, click on the thumbnails to view a full-sized photo:
