Pressure Wash companies in Maryland can be found through a variety of ways but when you are looking for a pressure washer in Maryland, make sure the company you hire has the proper insurance and licensing required by the state of Maryland.  When comparing one pressure wash company to another use the guidelines below to compare all pressure wash companies, this will help you find out if you should even consider having them bid the job.

Will you receive a written estimate?

All of our estimates are written using a 3 copy, custom designed forms for the pressure wash industry.

Is the scope of work clearly defined including areas to be finished, type of material, number of coats, and special surface preparation?

All of the steps of proper wood restoration will be listed on our forms to allow you to compare our services easily with another company.  Make sure you understand what every company is offering you and what their process is.  Some companies fail to list important aspects like the type of sealer being used or if they are only using high pressure to clean decks.  High pressure can destroy wood!

Has the company been in business 5 or more years?

Henry's Housework has provided a variety of pressure wash services in Maryland since1989.

Is the contractor properly insured?

If the contactor is not adequately insured, you may face the risk of having to insure a potential accident at best, or at worst, you could be facing a lawsuit.  This does not mean general liability alone - you should also see proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance.

Are recent and long term references offered?

References will help you determine the contactor’s ability to perform. Check ours here.
Henry's Housework has been providing pressure wash services for 16 years.  Our companies combined experience is over 45 years of knowledge from providing services to over 12,000 residential and commercial properties in Maryland.

Beware of companies that list years of experience, in some cases companies will list experience that does not involve actual pressure washing or they may list their employees experience combined.  This can mislead consumers into believing a company has more experience that it may actually have, that's why we have ours listed both ways.

Has the pressure wash company asked for more than 1/3 for a deposit?

In Maryland pressure wash companies are limited to requesting 1/3 or less for a downpayment.  In Maryland most pressure wash companies ask for a deposit, just make sure they don't ask for more than they are allowed to collect by law!
.
Is the contractor licensed?

In Maryland pressure wash companies are only required to have a home improvement license to apply deck sealers.  Henry's Housework has made several attempts to get this law changed to protect consumers.  What the Maryland Home Improvement Commission fails to understand is that most damage done during deck cleaning is caused from the use of high pressure, not just the sealing.  Our MHIC License number is MHIC#65039

The most important thing for a consumer to know is that pressure washing is a delicate process and to do the job correctly, you need the right chemicals, water volume and pressure.  If you use a company that takes shortcuts it can also cause thousands of dollars in damage.  Most people believe using 3,000 psi to pressure wash is the quickest and most effective way to get the job done that amount of pressure can destroy wood and other surfaces!
At Henry's Housework, we take the time to educate our employees in numerous certification programs and hands on training to provide you the best service possible.  This dedication and our equipment is what puts us among the leaders in the pressure wash industry across the country.  When you hire a pressure wash company, be careful of unlicensed contractors and make sure you deal with a company that has experience and the proper equipment, instead of just the cheapest price.
